Skiing in Ponte di Legno Tonale
Together with Passo del Tonale, Temù and the Presena Glacier, the Ponte di Legno ski area boasts over 100 kilometres of blue, red and black slopes. In short… suitable for everyone!
In particular, Ponte di Legno is connected to Passo del Tonale by a comfortable cable car and, once you reach the top, you can choose whether to enjoy the many slopes offered by the Tonale area or to take the cable car to Passo Paradiso at the foot of the majestic Presena Glacier. Once again, once you have reached an altitude of 2,587 metres, you can continue your ascent to the Presena Glacier with the panoramic cable car. The long black slope that will take you back to Passo del Tonale is one of the most exciting in the whole Alpine arc and the snow is excellent all season long! You can practically make almost 1,800 metres of difference in altitude from the 3,000 metres of the Presena glacier to the 1,300 metres of the Corno d’Aola chairlift.
If you decide to ski in Ponte di Legno you will discover instead the magic of skiing among snowy trees and some old chair lifts designed, like the slopes, inside the woods that reach Temù.
During the winter season in the area of Ponte di Legno – Tonale you can ski at night! The Valena slope at Passo del Tonale and the Valbione slope at Ponte di Legno will remain open until 11 pm! Panorama 3000 Glacier is the name of the new ski bar located at an altitude of 3000 meters above sea level, at the arrival of the Presena panoramic cableway, which can be reached on foot or by ski/snowboard. Made entirely of glass and steel, the hut offers a breathtaking 360° view of Adamello, Lobbie, Presenella and Pian di Neve. A must for skiers and not!

Excursions and adventures
If you are looking for a bit of adrenaline or simply an out of the ordinary mountain hike, Snowit offers the possibility to book a snowmobile excursion to Passo del Tonale off-piste! The standard excursion lasts about 1 hour, takes place together with a guide and you will follow tracks through snowy landscapes when the ski lifts close. For those who love cooking and night adventures there is also the snowmobile excursion complete with dinner in a mountain hut directly on the ski slopes to taste the delicious typical dishes! Pontedilegno – Tonale is a paradise for ski mountaineers with itineraries for different levels, durations and techniques. Here are some itineraries for ski mountaineering in Ponte di Legno:
- Cima Presena: an itinerary suitable also for the less external, it is a climb with the skins starting from the forest road that leads to Val Presena, reached the Passo Paradiso you can climb the glacier up to its 3,000 meters, the descent is also possible from the black slope Paradiso.
- Pisgana and Pisganino: a short and panoramic route uphill, very technical downhill. It starts from Passo Presena and reaches Passo del Pisgana, from which after 400 metres of uphill climb you can descend for a 2km descent to Ponte di Legno.
- Adamello: a two-day outing with 1,400 metres of uphill height difference, you pass from Passo Paradiso to the Rifugio Città di Trento and then reach the Rifugio Caduti dell’Adamello. Once you have conquered Cima Adamello, you climb over the Venice Pass and then you launch yourself into an immaculate descent from Pisgana to Ponte di Legno.
